I can. not. get. enough. of this GORGEOUS, Lush, Tropical Wedding at Villa del Oso last November. Sammie & Kort and their families were incredible to work with – you know, the kind of clients that just make you feel good. You can see the pure stoke and LOVE just shining off the Groom (and Bride – but seriously, Kort’s face and smile!!).
When I met them and Sammie’s parents a year before the wedding, they knew they were expecting a big turn out and decided on Villa del Oso as the ideal venue to host up to 180 guests. As the date approached, their RSVPs just kept rolling in and the guest list kept climbing – a true testament to the love that these two inspire in their friends and family, none of whom dared miss their incredible wedding in Sayulita! The final guest count clocked in at just over 200 – a record high number for SDW, which required much measuring and precise planning to ensure all of those tables would fit, along with 2 bars, a dance floor, and fabulous lounge areas. The venue was perfect and we think it really sung with all that energy and love filling it up!
Sammie and her girls hand lettered the 207 tropical leaf place cards to decorate the plates, and the SDW Dream Team (Ale, Sheryl & Niki – you ROCK!) put in marathon-worthy efforts on the big day to make sure every detail was in place for this stunning celebration. Marjie and Jenn of Funky Diva Artists Collective
rocked the Bridal Party Styling, beautifying the Bride, 9 Maids, and 2 Moms. Flor Mimo
‘s Mireya and her Team knocked the florals out of the park in her signature vibrant, whimsical style. As always, Don Pedro’s
killed it with flawless Catering & Bar service, and DJ Jess of Sayulita Musica
rocked the tunes all night long, with Tatewari Flamenco
setting the tone for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Rentals were culled from a mix of providers to get just the right look – MAC Event, Mobva, Unique Rentals and nicoella events.
¡¡Congratulations Sammie & Kort!! xo, SDW
Molly & Tyler’s May 2016 Wedding at Teitiare Estates was so beautiful and fun to design. Molly, a Designer herself, had great ideas and a well-edited Pinterest board with a fun mix of modern geometric elements and earthy greens. Molly did all the typeface and print design herself, which we carried through to the various signage elements for the ceremony and reception. They wanted a great bash for their friends and family, complete with a top shelf Tequila, Scotch, and Cuban cigar tasting bar from Don Pedro’s, who also provided the main bar and the gourmet dinner al fresco beneath the palms, the luscious cupcake table for dessert. Mireya of Flor Mimo worked her usual magic with Molly’s vision and palette, tying everything together with lush and graphic greenery and clean crystal vases. Dylan Howell of Portland-based Dylan and Sara Photography captured the day’s events and lovely details, and Irene Guerediaga of Make-up Vallarta beautifully styled Molly’s hair and makeup. Enjoy the photos!
Wishing a very Happy 4th Anniversary to Meagan & Scott from the SF Bay Area! They had a beautiful wedding – love those vibrant pops of RED! – at the spectacular St. Regis. The Rehearsal Dinner was especially fun to design. Meagan wanted a vintage Mexico travel theme and brought down fabulous posters. We did the tables up super bright with maracas and hand-painted piggy banks from Esto Es Mexico in Sayulita, one of my favorite spots for Mexican pop-art. Their light-up dance floor was epic and really got the crowd moving. The weekend’s events were captured flawlessly by the talented Andrew Weeks Photography. Flowers by Flor Mimo, Bridal Party Styling by Remede Spa at the St. Regis, and Cocktail Hour Tunes by Los Frixoleros (how I miss them!). Enjoy!
